What an interesting concept Post Secret is!

This is the first time I have ever heard of Post Secret and I am happy to have been introduced to it. I think sharing your secrets with the world is a phenomenal idea. Usually secrets are only shared with people that you dearly trust and very close to, so the idea of putting your secrets out there for anyone to read, completely changes the bounds of secrecy.

It is an amazing feeling to be able to share a secret with someone. The anonymity of the blog creates a sense of freedom to share your deepest secrets which adds to it appeal. Post Secret is a "safe" way for secret keepers to share.

I very much enjoyed reading the secrets posted and I am intrigued enough to consider posting my own secret:)

My opinion of Killing Yourself to Live

I found Killing Yourself to Live by Chuck Klosterman to be a interesting read. I enjoyed Klosterman's manic writing style. His signature style spoke directly from his mind and I found this to be refreshing yet at times confusing. The way in which he related music to almost every aspect of his life was amazing to me. I admit I did not understand all of his musical references but Klosterman's quick wit and smartass nature excused the fact that I could'nt understand every musical connection.

The only piece of the story that I was disappointed with was the lack of growth of the main character, Chuck Klosterman. As much as Chuck talked about his relationship issues I thought that he would make some of realization as to why his romantic relationships never worked out. Chuck portrays himself as an extremely selfish person and I hoped that he would become slightly less egocentric by the time his story had concluded.

I would recommend the book Killing Yourself to Read to others only with the condition that the reader have some basic understanding of classic rock and roll, otherwise the story would be lost in translation.

Frankenstein's Monster

My favorite monster is Frankenstein's monster. I have an affinity for Frankenstein's monster because I believe that he actually posses a good soul but is driven to killing by society. The community is afraid of his looks and is automatically labeled as a "monster". Despite his intelligence, society shuns him and makes him feel unwanted. Frankenstein is such a lonely creature. All he wants is to be able to relate to others and be accepted into society.

Harsh Reality

Harsh Reality

By: Katie Schwarz

Is this a nightmare?

That I will soon awaken from?

Or is this the reality that I must face?

The days are cold and long without a warm reprieve.

The birds have stopped singing,

And the flowers have stopped blooming.

As I face the harsh reality of death,

I look for hope in glass bottles and smoke filled rooms.

Precious Innocence

I chose the photo because of the precious nature of the image. There is something so heartwarming and lovely about an infant. I think that this photo captures the innocence of the infant and the love shared that is shared between the infant and the person holding the "little one".

The Three Little Pigs as Told by the Big Bad Wolf

The Three Little Pigs as Told by the Big Bad Wolf

It all began on a Friday evening when I was on my way home from work. I was simply walking along when I happened upon three little pigs. Being a hungry beast by nature, I approached the three pigs to catch a closer look, meanwhile hiding in a bush. The three pigs were neighbors, one living in a house of straw, the other living in a house of sticks and the last living in a house of bricks. As I observed the pigs I grew very hungry and began to concoct a plan as to how I would devour the three unsuspecting pigs.
Dressed as a mailman, I knocked on the door of the first little pig’s house, the house made of straw. The little pig came to the door and called, “Who is it?” “It’s the mailman, sir. I have come to deliver your mail,” and as the little pig opened the door I swallowed him whole. Though one little pig was quite a meal I was still hungry and decided to visit the next little pig’s house.
So, dressed as a girl scout, I approached the door of the house made out of sticks and knocked on the door. The clueless little pig came to the door and inquired, “Who is it?” “I am a girl scout just wishing to sell some cookies. Would you like to buy some, dear sir?” As soon as the pig opened his door I gobbled him up. I was getting quite full after eating my second pig, yet I decided I could hardly let a third pig go to waste so I paid a visit to the house made of bricks.
This time, I dressed as a repair man and knocked on the door. And yet again the pig came to the door and called, “Who is it?” “I am a repair man sir, and I have come to fix your roof.” The little pig replied “but I did not call a repair man.” “I know sir, but I happened to be passing by when I noticed you have a small hole in your roof. May I borrow a latter so I can get a better look at the hole?” The pig replied “I suppose. The ladder is on the side of the house. I will let you fetch it yourself.” And with this I went to find the latter. As I climbed the ladder stairs my mouth watered with the thought of my third meal waiting so unexpectedly below. “This day was too good to be true,” I thought to myself as I crept down the chimney.

But to the wolf’s surprise the little pig was not so unsuspecting. The little pig had a pot of boiling water waiting for the wolf at the bottom of the chimney. As the wolf descended into the house, a loud yelp of discomfort could be heard and then there was silence. That evening the little pig had a delightful soup for supper and the wolf was never to be seen again.
